Career with Wisin & Yandel
Wisin's rise to fame began in the late 1990s when he teamed up with Yandel to form the iconic reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. They released their debut album, "Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio," in 2000, which was followed by several other successful albums that were certified gold. Their 2005 album, "Pa'l Mundo," catapulted them to international stardom and featured hit singles like "Rakata." The duo established their own record label, WY Records, and continued to release chart-topping albums, including "Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres" (2007) and "La Revolución" (2009). They became the first and only reggaeton artists to win a Grammy Award in 2009.
After a hiatus announced in late 2013, during which both artists pursued solo projects, Wisin & Yandel officially reunited in 2018. Their reunion was marked by a world tour and the release of new music, including the album "Los Campeones del Pueblo 'The Big Leagues'" (2018).
Solo Career
Wisin embarked on a solo career concurrently with his work in the duo, releasing his first solo album, "El Sobreviviente," in 2004. Following the duo's hiatus, he released his second solo album, "El Regreso del Sobreviviente," in 2014, which featured major collaborations with artists like Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and Chris Brown. As a solo artist, he is known for hit singles such as "Adrenalina" and "Escápate Conmigo."
