Taymor Travon McIntyre (born June 16, 2000), known professionally as Tay-K, is an American rapper from Arlington, Texas. He was born in Long Beach, California, and moved with his family to Arlington, Texas, in search of a better environment after his father's release from prison. McIntyre began his rap career in 2014 as part of the group Daytona Boyz. He released his first solo song, "BIFF XANNEN," in 2015.

Legal Troubles and "The Race"

In July 2016, McIntyre was arrested on a capital murder charge related to a home invasion that resulted in the death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker. After being placed on house arrest, he cut off his ankle monitor in March 2017 and went on the run. During this time, he recorded and released the song "The Race," which detailed his flight from law enforcement. The song and its music video gained viral fame, and it eventually peaked at number 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA. He was captured by U.S. Marshals in New Jersey on June 30, 2017.

Murder Convictions and Sentencing

First Murder Trial

In July 2019, Tay-K was found guilty of the murder of Ethan Walker. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the murder charge. He also received sentences for multiple counts of aggravated robbery, which are being served concurrently. He will be eligible for parole after serving half of his 55-year sentence.

Second Murder Trial

While on the run in 2017, McIntyre was involved in another fatal shooting in San Antonio, which resulted in the death of 23-year-old photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar. In April 2025, a jury found him guilty of this murder. He was subsequently sentenced to 80 years in prison for this crime. This sentence will run concurrently with his previous 55-year sentence.
