Biography

Dimitri Leslie Roger, known professionally as Rich The Kid, is an American rapper born in Queens, New York City, on July 13, 1992. He is of Haitian descent and grew up speaking Haitian Creole. Following his parents' divorce at age 13, he moved with his mother to College Park, Georgia. His early musical influences included East Coast artists like Nas, Jay-Z, and The Notorious B.I.G., but his relocation to the Atlanta area exposed him to Southern hip hop, which shaped his future sound. He initially went by the rap name Black Boy Da Kid before adopting Rich The Kid.

Career Beginnings

Rich The Kid's career took off in 2013 with the release of his debut mixtape, "Been About the Benjamins". He gained significant traction through his collaborations with the Atlanta-based group Migos, releasing a series of mixtapes titled "Streets On Lock" between 2013 and 2015. Throughout this period, he was prolific, dropping several solo and collaborative projects, including "Feels Good 2 Be Rich" (2014), "Flexin' on Purpose" (2015), and "Dabbin Fever" (2015), which featured artists like Young Thug, Migos, and Wiz Khalifa.

Rich Forever Music

In March 2016, he founded his own record label, Rich Forever Music. The initial artists signed to the label were Famous Dex and Jay Critch. The label has released several compilation mixtapes, including "Rich Forever Music" and "Rich Forever 2".

Mainstream Success

A major turning point in his career came in 2017 when he signed with Interscope Records. His debut studio album, "The World Is Yours," was released in 2018 and was a commercial success, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was propelled by the hit singles "New Freezer" featuring Kendrick Lamar and the platinum-certified "Plug Walk". He followed this up with his second album, "The World Is Yours 2," in 2019, which peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. His third album, "Boss Man," was released in 2020.

Recent Ventures

After his departure from Interscope, Rich The Kid signed with Republic Records in late 2019 and later with RCA Records in 2022. He has continued to release music, including collaborative mixtapes "Nobody Safe" (2020) with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and "Trust Fund Babies" (2021) with Lil Wayne. In 2024, he was a featured artist on the single "Carnival" by ¥$, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Personal Life

Rich The Kid was previously married to Antonette Willis, with whom he has two children. Willis filed for divorce in March 2018. He later became engaged to Tori Brixx, and they have a son together.
