Biography

Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment. The group debuted on August 1, 2014, with the single "Happiness" and four members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy. In March 2015, a fifth member, Yeri, was added to the group.

Following their debut, Red Velvet released their first digital single "Be Natural" in October 2014. With the addition of Yeri, the group released their first mini-album, "Ice Cream Cake," in March 2015, which was a commercial success. Their first full-length album, "The Red," was released in September 2015 and topped both the Billboard World Albums chart and South Korea's Gaon Album Chart.
