Biography
Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz, known professionally as Rauw Alejandro, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and producer born on January 10, 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Raised in a musical household with his father, a guitarist, and his mother, a backing vocalist, he was exposed to a variety of artists like Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson from a young age. Before pursuing music, Alejandro had a promising soccer career, but an injury led him to focus on his musical passion. He is a prominent figure of the "new generation" of Puerto Rican urban music artists and has been dubbed the "King of Modern Reggaeton".
Career Beginnings
Rauw Alejandro began his music career by publishing songs on SoundCloud in 2014, quickly gaining a following. In 2016, he released his debut mixtape, "Punto de Equilibrio". He gained significant attention in 2018 when he was chosen to be part of "Los Próximos," a musical project by Sony Music Latin aimed at showcasing new talent. This opportunity led to collaborations with established artists and increased his visibility in the Latin music scene. The remix of his 2017 single "Toda" with Alex Rose went viral in 2018, amassing over a billion views. Hits like "Fantasías" with Farruko and "El Efecto" with Chencho Corleone further solidified his international recognition.

Alejandro's debut studio album, "Afrodisíaco," was released in November 2020 and earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Música Urbana Album. His second album, "Vice Versa" (2021), debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and featured the massive global hit "Todo de Ti". This was followed by the critically acclaimed albums "Saturno" (2022) and "Playa Saturno" (2023). His fifth studio album, "Cosa Nuestra," was released in November 2024.
