Biography

Piso 21 is a Colombian Latin pop and reggaeton group formed in Medellín in 2007. The band's name, which translates to "Floor 21," originates from the 21st floor of a building in their hometown where they used to rehearse. The current members of the group are Pablo Mejía (Pablito), Juan David Huertas (El Profe), and David Escobar (Dim). Former members include Juan David Castaño (El Llane), who left in 2019 to pursue a solo career, and was replaced by David Lorduy Hernández (Lorduy), who was with the group for a period.

Piso 21 began their career with a focus on romantic pop, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2012. This album earned them a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Over the years, their musical style has evolved to incorporate a blend of pop, reggaeton, and other urban and electronic sounds. This transition began around 2014 with the release of their single "Suele Suceder" featuring Nicky Jam. In 2016, they signed with Warner Music Latina and released the hit single "Me Llamas," which gained international recognition, especially with the remix featuring Maluma.

Rise to International Fame

Their sophomore album, "Ubuntu," released in 2018, solidified their international fame with hit singles like "Déjala Que Vuelva" featuring Manuel Turizo, "Te Amo" with Paulo Londra, and "La Vida Sin Ti".
