Biography

Pablo Moreno de Alborán Ferrándiz, known professionally as Pablo Alborán, is a Spanish singer and songwriter born on May 31, 1989, in Málaga, Spain. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in music, learning to play the piano, classical guitar, flamenco guitar, and acoustic guitar. At the age of 12, he composed his first songs, "Amor de Barrio" and "Desencuentro," which would later be included on his debut album. He gained initial recognition by uploading videos of his performances to YouTube, which caught the attention of producer Manuel Illán and singer Diana Navarro, who became his musical mentor.

Career Breakthrough and Success

Alborán's official debut came in 2010 with the release of his single "Solamente Tú," which topped the charts in Spain. His self-titled debut album, released in February 2011, reached number one in its first week of sales, making him the first solo artist to achieve this with a debut album in Spain since 1998. This early success earned him a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. His subsequent albums, including Tanto (2012), Terral (2014), Prometo (2017), Vértigo (2020), and La Cuarta Hoja (2022), have all achieved significant commercial success, with his first five studio albums all reaching number one in Spain.

Personal Life

He is the son of Spanish architect Salvador Moreno de Alborán Peralta and Elena Ferrándiz Martínez, who is of French nationality. In June 2020, Alborán publicly came out as gay.
