The current lineup consists of lead vocalist and songwriter Ryan Tedder, guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, drummer Eddie Fisher, and keyboardist Brian Willett. The band first gained significant attention on MySpace, becoming a prominent unsigned act on the platform.
Career Breakthrough and "Dreaming Out Loud"
The band's initial journey included a record deal with Columbia Records in 2003, but they were later dropped. Their fortunes changed when they signed with Timbaland's Mosley Music Group. The collaboration led to a remix of their song "Apologize," which was featured on Timbaland's 2007 album, "Shock Value." The remixed version became a massive international success, reaching number one in 16 countries and earning the band a Grammy Award nomination. This success propelled their debut album, "Dreaming Out Loud" (2007), to platinum status. The album also included the hit single "Stop and Stare."
Subsequent Albums and Continued Success
OneRepublic's second album, "Waking Up" (2009), featured successful singles like "All the Right Moves," "Secrets," and "Good Life." Their third album, "Native" (2013), debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, becoming their first top-ten album in the US. This album included the worldwide hit "Counting Stars," which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100, matching the peak of "Apologize." In 2016, the band released their fourth album, "Oh My My," which featured collaborations with artists like Peter Gabriel and Santigold. Their fifth studio album, "Human," was released in 2021. The band also contributed the song "I Ain't Worried" to the "Top Gun: Maverick" soundtrack in 2022, which became a significant hit.
