Mr. Belt & Wezol are a Dutch electronic music duo consisting of DJ Bart Riem and DJ/producer Sam van Wees. Hailing from Delft, the Netherlands, the pair formed in 2013, bonding over their love for house music. They are known for their unique sound that combines elements of house music to create energetic tracks and sets. Their music is often described as a blend of retro and contemporary sounds, incorporating sample-based house tracks.

Career Highlights

The duo initially gained recognition by releasing tracks for free on platforms like SoundCloud. Things started to take off for them in the summer of 2014 with releases like "Shiver" and "Feel So Good" on Spinnin' Records. A significant milestone was their 2014 collaboration with Oliver Heldens on the track "Pikachu". In 2015, their tracks "Finally" and "Somebody to Love" reached the top 10 of the Beatport charts, solidifying their reputation. "Finally" is a modern take on the CeCe Peniston classic, while "Somebody to Love" re-uses vocals from the famous Jefferson Airplane hit. Their success led to them winning the "Breakthrough Artist of the Year" award at the 2016 International Dance Music Awards.

Mr. Belt & Wezol have performed at major international festivals such as Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, and Ultra Music Festival. They are also known for their own event concept called "The Cuckoo's Nest," which allows them to play longer, more intimate sets. Since 2014, the duo has hosted a monthly podcast, which started as the "Mr. Belt & Wezol Music Club" and later became "Thee Cuckoo's Nest".
