Christopher Comstock, known professionally as Marshmello, is an American electronic music producer and DJ born on May 19, 1992, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is recognized for his signature marshmallow-like helmet that he wears during public appearances to maintain his anonymity. His identity was a subject of speculation until Forbes confirmed he was Chris Comstock in 2017. Marshmello’s musical style is characterized as groove-oriented, synth, and bass-heavy electronic dance music.

Marshmello's career took off in 2015 when he started posting his original songs and remixes on SoundCloud. He gained initial recognition by remixing tracks for artists like Zedd and Jack Ü. His work quickly garnered support from established artists, notably Skrillex, who reposted Marshmello's track "Find Me" on his own SoundCloud page. This support helped him secure performances at major festivals such as the HARD Day of the Dead festival and Miami Music Week.
