Biography

Marco Antonio Solís Sosa, born on December 29, 1959, in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Mexico, is a renowned Mexican musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His musical journey began at the young age of six, performing alongside his cousin Joel Solís as "Los Hermanitos Solís." This early start laid the foundation for a career that would span decades and establish him as one of the most influential figures in Latin music.

Los Bukis

In the mid-1970s, Solís co-founded the group "Los Bukis" with his cousin Joel. As the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter, Marco Antonio Solís was the creative force behind the band. Los Bukis achieved immense success throughout Latin America and the United States, known for their romantic ballads and unique blend of cumbia, norteño, and banda music. Their popularity soared in the 1980s and 1990s with hits like "Tu Cárcel" and "Como Fui a Enamorarme de Ti." After nearly two decades of success, the band dissolved in 1996, and Solís embarked on a solo career.

Solo Career

Marco Antonio Solís released his debut solo album, "En Pleno Vuelo," in 1996 to great acclaim. His solo work continued to showcase his songwriting prowess and distinctive voice, blending genres such as Latin pop, mariachi, and cumbia. He has released numerous successful albums, including "Trozos de Mi Alma" and "Más de Mi Alma," and has had over 30 entries on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart. His popular solo songs include "Si No Te Hubieras Ido," "Más Que Tu Amigo," and "O Me Voy o Te Vas." In 2021, after 25 years, Los Bukis reunited for a tour.
