Biography

Lilly Wood and The Prick is a French alternative pop and folk duo, composed of Nili Hadida and Benjamin Cotto. The duo was formed in 2006 after they met at a café in Paris and decided to collaborate. Their name is meant to reflect the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Career Beginnings

In 2008, they gained attention on MySpace with a cover of Santigold's "L.E.S. Artistes". This led to them working with guitarist Pierre Guimard, who offered them his studio for production. Their first EP, "Lilly Who and the What?", was released in 2009. Soon after, they signed with the independent label Cinq7.

Rise to Fame

The duo released their first full-length album, "Invincible Friends," on May 31, 2010. The album featured the original version of their song "Prayer in C". In 2011, they won the "Revelation of the Public" award at the Victoires de la Musique, a prestigious French music awards ceremony. Their second album, "The Fight," was released on November 5, 2012.

International Breakthrough

Lilly Wood and The Prick achieved massive international success in 2014 when German DJ Robin Schulz remixed their song "Prayer in C". The remix topped the charts in numerous countries, including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The success of the remix brought the duo global recognition. Following this, their third album, "Shadows," was released in 2015.

Recent Years

After a hiatus, the duo returned in 2020 with new music. They released their fourth studio album, "Most Anything," which they described as experimental and influenced by their teenage years, citing artists like Fleetwood Mac and Lenny Kravitz.
