Biography

Leon George Thomas III (born August 1, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. His career began at the age of 10 when he made his Broadway debut as Young Simba in the 2003 production of "The Lion King". He went on to appear in other Broadway productions, including "Caroline, or Change" and "The Color Purple". In 2007, Thomas made his film debut in "August Rush" and also provided the singing voice for the character Tyrone in the animated series "The Backyardigans".

Acting Career

Thomas gained widespread recognition for his role as Andre Harris on the Nickelodeon television series "Victorious" (2010–2013). He appeared in all seasons of the show and also co-wrote and performed songs for the show's soundtracks. His work on "Victorious" earned him a nomination for an NAACP Image Award in 2012. He also appeared in an episode of "iCarly" and the film "Detroit" (2017).

Music Career

While acting, Thomas began to focus more on his music career. In 2012, he released his debut mixtape, "Metro Hearts". He formed the production duo The Rascals and went on to write and produce for a number of high-profile artists. He has co-written and produced songs for Ariana Grande, Drake, SZA, Toni Braxton, and Babyface.

As a songwriter and producer, Thomas has achieved significant success. He won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for his work on SZA's hit "Snooze". He also received a Grammy nomination for co-writing Rick Ross's song "Gold Roses". His production credits also include work on Drake's album "Certified Lover Boy" and Toni Braxton and Babyface's Grammy-winning album "Love, Marriage & Divorce".

As a solo artist, Thomas has released several projects. After his initial mixtape, he released another mixtape titled "V1bes" in 2014 and the EP "Genesis" in 2018. In 2022, he signed with EZMNY Records and Motown. He released his debut studio album, "Electric Dusk," in 2023, followed by his second album, "Mutt," in 2024. The album "Mutt" and its title track became his first solo entries on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 charts, respectively.
