Justin Drew Bieber, born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario, Canada, is a globally recognized pop icon known for his versatile musical style. Raised in Stratford, Ontario, by his single mother, Pattie Mallette, in low-income housing, he taught himself to play several instruments, including the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. In 2007, at the age of 12, his mother began posting videos of him performing R&B covers on YouTube. These videos quickly gained popularity, leading to his discovery by American talent manager Scooter Braun in 2008.
Rise to Fame
Braun arranged for the 13-year-old Bieber to meet with R&B star Usher in Atlanta, which resulted in a record deal with RBMG Records, a joint venture between Braun and Usher. His debut extended play, "My World," was released in 2009 and quickly established him as a teen idol. This release made history as he became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record chart on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut studio album, "My World 2.0," followed in 2010, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200. The album's lead single, "Baby" featuring Ludacris, became one of the best-selling singles of all time and solidified his status as a global superstar.
Musical Evolution
Throughout his career, Bieber has continuously evolved his musical style. His second album, "Under the Mistletoe" (2011), was a Christmas album that debuted at number one, a first for a male artist. He explored dance-pop with his third album, "Believe" (2012). After a period of public scrutiny, he made a significant comeback with his 2015 album "Purpose." This album appealed to a broader audience and featured three number-one singles: "What Do You Mean?," "Sorry," and "Love Yourself." His subsequent albums, "Changes" (2020) and "Justice" (2021), continued to top the charts, with "Justice" earning multiple Grammy nominations. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including DJ Snake on "Let Me Love You," Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee on the record-breaking remix of "Despacito," and The Kid LAROI on the global hit "Stay."
