Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Lam, known professionally as Jax Jones, is a British DJ, record producer, and remixer born in London on July 25, 1987. His multicultural upbringing, with a Turkish father and a Chinese-Malaysian mother, exposed him to a wide range of musical influences, including afrobeat, rap, R&B, gospel, and pop. Jones began his musical journey with classical guitar and started making beats at 15 using Cubase.
Career Beginnings
Jax Jones started his career performing at open mic nights in London, where he connected with grime producer Ripperman. This led to work with artists in the grime scene, including Big Narstie. A pivotal moment came when he met Duke Dumont, which sparked his interest in house music. Their collaboration resulted in the co-writing and production of the 2014 hit single "I Got U," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and marked his breakthrough.
