GloRilla
Biography
Gloria Hallelujah Woods (born July 28, 1999), known professionally as GloRilla, is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. She initially gained recognition for singing in her church choir, but later transitioned to rapping after losing her singing voice. She is the eighth of ten children in her family.
Career Beginnings
GloRilla started her rap career by releasing the mixtape "Most Likely Up Next" in 2019 and an EP titled "P Status" in 2020. However, it was her 2022 single "F.N.F. (Let's Go)" with producer Hitkidd that propelled her to viral fame. The song gained significant traction on TikTok, leading to the #FNFChallenge. The success of the single was massive, debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching the top 50. This breakout hit earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance.
Rise to Stardom
In July 2022, following the success of "F.N.F. (Let's Go)", GloRilla signed with fellow Memphis rapper Yo Gotti's record label, Collective Music Group (CMG), in a partnership with Interscope Records. This made her the first female rapper signed to the label. Her next single, "Tomorrow," and its remix featuring Cardi B, became her first top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100. In November 2022, she released her debut EP, "Anyways, Life's Great," which debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart. The EP, which included singles like "F.N.F. (Let's Go)," "Blessed," and "Tomorrow 2," received a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2023 BET Awards.
Recent Success
GloRilla's momentum continued into 2024 with the release of her commercial mixtape "Ehhthang Ehhthang," which featured the top 40 single "Yeah Glo!". Her debut studio album, "Glorious," was released in October 2024 and peaked at number five on the Billboard 200. The album includes the single "TGIF" and collaborations with artists like Megan Thee Stallion and Latto.
Awards and Recognition
GloRilla has received several awards and nominations throughout her career. She won Best New Hip-Hop Artist at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards. In 2023, she won an iHeartRadio Music Award and was the second most nominated artist at the BET Awards, trailing only Drake. In 2025, she won Hip-Hop Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the BET Awards for her song "Rain Down on Me".
