Biography

Salomón Villada Hoyos, known professionally as Feid and also as Ferxxo, is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and record producer born on August 19, 1992, in Medellín, Colombia. His parents fostered a creative environment; his father is a university art professor and his mother a preschool teacher and psychologist. His stage name, Feid, is a testament to his faith in his own talent. Early in life, he took music courses at the University of Antioquia, where he learned to play the clarinet, but his true passion was singing, which he pursued in choirs. Though he enjoys R&B and hip-hop, he chose to focus on reggaeton, believing it to be more popular with younger audiences.

Career Beginnings and Songwriting

Before launching his solo career, Feid established himself as a prominent songwriter for other artists. He penned several hits, including J Balvin's popular song "Ginza," which earned him an ASCAP Latin Music Award. He also wrote for other well-known artists like Nicky Jam, Maluma, and Sebastián Yatra. In 2015, Feid released his debut single "Morena," which was successful in Latin America and helped establish him as a recording artist. His debut album, "Así Como Suena," was released the same year.

Rise to Stardom

Feid's collaboration with J Balvin on the 2016 single "Que Raro" became his first international hit. He continued to release music, including his second album, also titled "Así Como Suena," in 2017, which featured various collaborations. His 2019 album, "19," was followed by "Ferxxo (Vol 1: M.O.R)" in 2020. A major breakthrough came with his 2022 album, "Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo Te Pirateamos el Álbum," which entered the top 10 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. His subsequent "Ferxxo Nitro Jam Underground" tour sold out in 24 hours.

His global ascent continued with his 2023 album "Mor, No Le Temas a La Oscuridad" and the "Ferxxocalipsis" EP. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Bad Bunny, Karol G, Sean Paul, and Rema. His 2024 "Ferxxocalipsis World Tour" included sold-out shows in major cities and stadiums. He also opened the 2024 Copa America.

Musical Style and Alter Ego

Feid's music is characterized by a smooth tenor vocal delivery and has been described as a softer, more romantic style of reggaeton, often incorporating slang from his hometown of Medellín. He is also known by his alter ego, "Ferxxo." He has taken full creative control over recent projects, acting as producer, mixing engineer, and lyricist to preserve his original artistic vision.
