Biography

Daecolm, whose real name is Daecolm Diego Holland, is a singer, songwriter, and producer. He was born in Zimbabwe and moved to South London at six months old. His father introduced him to music, and by the age of 14, he had taught himself to play the piano and guitar and began writing and recording his own music. At 15, he moved with his family to New Zealand for five years. He has since spent significant time in the UK and Los Angeles.

Career Beginnings

Daecolm's musical journey started at 14, influenced by his father. His sound is described as a fusion of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and R&B. He initially started as an artist before transitioning into songwriting, a profession he didn't initially realize could be a career. In 2016, he signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV.

Rise to Prominence

A major turning point in Daecolm's career came in May 2017 when his refixed version of ABBA's "Dancing Queen" went viral on Facebook, gaining millions of views. This led to a single deal with Polydor Records. He is also known for his collaborations and songwriting for major international artists.

Songwriting and Collaborations

Daecolm has a notable career as a songwriter, penning tracks for prominent artists. He has written and co-produced three songs on Chris Brown's 2017 album "Heartbreak on a Full Moon" and also co-wrote Brown's holiday song "It's Giving Christmas". His songwriting credits include work for artists like Trey Songz, Craig David, Mario, and Ella Mai. He has also collaborated with a wide range of musicians including Wiz Kid, Ayra Starr, Adekunle Gold, and Stefflon Don.

Recent Work

In 2024, Daecolm was featured on the successful track "I Adore You" by Hugel, Topic, and Arash. A new version of the song was later released featuring J Balvin and Ellie Goulding alongside Daecolm. In 2025, he collaborated with Hugel, David Guetta, and Kehlani on the summer anthem "Think Of Me". He continues to release his own music, with his latest album being "FIGUR£$" in 2020 and several singles and EPs in subsequent years. He is also focused on giving back to his community in Zimbabwe by conducting songwriting workshops and collaborating with local artists.
