Biography

Chase Atlantic is an Australian band formed in 2014 in Cairns, Queensland. The group consists of three members: brothers Mitchel and Clinton Cave, and their longtime friend Christian Anthony. Before forming Chase Atlantic, Mitchel Cave and Christian Anthony were in a boy band called What About Tonight, which competed on the fourth season of The X Factor Australia. Clinton Cave had a successful YouTube channel where he and his brother would post cover songs.

Musical Style and Influences

Chase Atlantic's music is a blend of various genres, including alternative R&B, pop, rock, and trap. Their sound has been described as "dark alternative pop punctuated by rock and R&B." Over the years, their style has evolved from a pop-rock sound in their early days to a more distinct alternative R&B feel. The band cites artists like Tame Impala, The Weeknd, The 1975, and The Neighbourhood as major influences on their music.

Career and Discography

The band released their first EP, "Dalliance," on May 26, 2014. Their second EP, "Nostalgia," released in 2015, gained them significant attention, particularly the song "Friends." This success led to them signing with MDDN, a management company run by Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, in 2016.

Chase Atlantic released their self-titled debut album in October 2017. This was followed by extensive touring, including a headlining tour in the United States and opening for artists like Blackbear and Lights. They have also performed at major festivals such as Bonnaroo and the Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Their sophomore album, "Phases," was released in 2019. The band's third studio album, "Beauty in Death," was released on March 5, 2021. A deluxe version of this album was released in 2022. Following a brief hiatus, the band returned in 2023 with the single "Mamacita" and announced their fourth studio album, "Lost in Heaven," which was released on November 1, 2024.
