Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell was born in Los Angeles, California on December 18, 2001. She was born into a family of actors and musicians. Her parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, homeschooled her and her older brother, Finneas O'Connell. From a young age, Eilish was immersed in music, joining the Los Angeles Children's Chorus at age eight and writing her first song at eleven.

Career Beginnings and Breakthrough

Eilish's career took off in 2015 with the release of the song "Ocean Eyes," written and produced by her brother Finneas. Initially uploaded to SoundCloud for her dance teacher, the song quickly went viral, leading to a record deal with Darkroom/Interscope Records.
