Biography

Belinda Peregrín Schüll, known professionally as Belinda, is a Spanish-Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born in Madrid, Spain, on August 15, 1989. At the age of four, she moved to Mexico City with her family. Belinda began her career in 2000 at the age of 10, when she was cast in the lead role of the Mexican children's telenovela "¡Amigos x Siempre!". This was followed by roles in other popular children's series, "Aventuras en el Tiempo" in 2001 and "Cómplices Al Rescate" in 2002.

Music Career

Belinda launched her solo music career with her self-titled debut album, "Belinda," in 2003. The album was a commercial success in Latin America, selling over 1.1 million copies worldwide. It included hit singles like "Lo Siento" and "Vivir". Her second album, "Utopía," was released in 2006 and earned her two Latin Grammy Award nominations. This was followed by "Carpe Diem" in 2010 and "Catarsis" in 2013. Her music is primarily a mix of Latin pop, pop rock, and dance-pop. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with various artists, including Pitbull and Los Ángeles Azules.

Acting Career

In addition to her success in music, Belinda has continued to act. In 2006, she made her American film debut in the Disney Channel movie "The Cheetah Girls 2," playing the role of Marisol. The movie was viewed by over 8.1 million people on its premiere night. She has also had roles in other films and television shows, including the 2017 movie "Baywatch" and the Netflix series "Bienvenidos a Edén." Belinda has also done voice-over work, voicing Princess Poppy in the Latin American Spanish dub of the animated film "Trolls."
