Amanda Ava Koci, known professionally as Ava Max, is an American singer and songwriter born on February 16, 1994, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her parents are Albanian immigrants who fled the country in 1991. Growing up in a musical household with an opera singer mother and a pianist father, she began her journey in music at a young age, competing in various singing competitions. At 14, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue music but faced rejections. After a period in South Carolina, she returned to Los Angeles at 17 to give her dream another shot.
