Biography

Golden Landis Von Jones, known professionally as 24kGoldn, is an American singer and rapper born on November 13, 2000, in San Francisco, California. He was raised in a family with a diverse background; his mother is Ashkenazi Jewish and his father is African-American and Catholic. His parents had previously worked as fashion models. Growing up, he was exposed to both Christmas and Hanukkah. Von Jones attended Lowell High School, a selective public school from which he graduated in 2018. He then enrolled at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business but took a leave of absence to pursue his music career.

Career

24kGoldn's interest in music began at a young age, and he released his first music video for the song "Trappers Anthem" in 2017. He gained significant recognition in 2019 with his single "Valentino," which peaked at number 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum. This success led to a record deal with Records, LLC and Columbia Records. In November 2019, he released his debut EP, "Dropped Outta College". His 2020 single, "City of Angels," also gained considerable attention.

His major breakthrough came with the 2020 single "Mood," featuring Iann Dior, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song's popularity was significantly boosted by the social media platform TikTok. In August 2020, he was named to XXL's 2020 Freshman Class.
