Biography
Marco Efraín Masís Fernández, known professionally as Tainy, is a highly influential Puerto Rican record producer, songwriter, and artist. Born on August 9, 1989, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was raised in a musically diverse environment, which sparked his interest in a wide range of genres from a young age. His career began in his early teens when he met producer Nely "El Arma Secreta," who introduced him to music production software. Tainy quickly honed his skills and at the age of 15, he caught the attention of the renowned reggaeton production duo Luny Tunes, who signed him to their team. His first major credit was on the influential album "Mas Flow 2".
Rise to Prominence and Signature Sound
Tainy rapidly became a driving force in the reggaeton scene, known for his innovative and transformative contributions to the genre. He is credited with redefining the sound of reggaeton by infusing it with elements of electronica, pop, R&B, and trap. His work with Luny Tunes on the album "Mas Flow: Los Benjamins" further solidified his position as a rising star in music production. He has been recognized for his pivotal role in the success of many artists, helping to shape the sound of a new generation of Latin music.

He has also produced global hits for artists like Cardi B ("I Like It"), J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Dua Lipa ("UN DIA (ONE DAY)"). Other significant collaborations include "Adicto" with Anuel AA and Ozuna, and "Callaíta" with Bad Bunny. His work on J Balvin's album "Vibras" and Bad Bunny's "X 100pre" were critical and commercial successes. He also executive produced Selena Gomez's first Spanish-language EP, "Revelación".

In addition to his prolific production work for other artists, Tainy has also embarked on a successful solo career. He has released his own singles and EPs, including the "Neon16 Tape: The Kids That Grew Up on Reggaeton". In 2023, he released his debut studio album, "DATA," which featured numerous collaborations and was met with critical acclaim, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Música Urbana Album. The album's release was followed by a sold-out 360° audiovisual experience in Puerto Rico called 'DATA Loading'.
