Silk Sonic is an American R&B superduo consisting of musicians Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. The collaboration was officially announced in February 2021. Their friendship and musical partnership began in 2017 when .Paak opened for Mars during the European leg of his 24K Magic World Tour. The duo's name was reportedly coined by funk legend Bootsy Collins after he heard their album.
