Biography

Roseanne Park, also known by her stage name Rosé, is a New Zealand and South Korean singer and songwriter born in Auckland, New Zealand on February 11, 1997. She was raised in Melbourne, Australia, where her family moved in 2004. From a young age, she showed a passion for singing and learned to play the guitar and piano.

Road to Stardom

At the age of 15, on her father's suggestion, Rosé auditioned for the South Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment in Sydney in 2012. She ranked first among 700 participants and subsequently signed with the label, moving to Seoul to begin her training. After four years as a trainee, she was revealed as the final member of the girl group BLACKPINK on June 22, 2016. The group debuted on August 8, 2016, with the single album "Square One".

Solo Career

Rosé made her solo debut on March 12, 2021, with the single album "R". The album's lead single, "On the Ground," was a commercial success, topping the Billboard Global 200 chart and setting a record for the most-viewed YouTube music video by a solo K-pop artist in 24 hours. This achievement made her the first artist to top a Billboard Global chart as both a soloist and part of a group. The album "R" sold 448,089 copies in its first week, a record for a Korean female soloist at the time. In December 2023, it was confirmed that while Rosé renewed her contract with YG Entertainment for group activities, she did not for her individual activities. In June 2024, she signed a management contract with THEBLACKLABEL for her solo work. She also signed a solo deal with Atlantic Records. Later that year, she released her debut studio album, "Rosie," which featured the hit single "Apt." in collaboration with Bruno Mars.
