David Esekhile, known professionally as PAWSA, is a British DJ and record producer from London, England, born in 1992 or 1993. He is a significant figure in the tech house scene, recognized for his chart-hitting tracks, international tours, and as the co-founder of Solid Grooves Records. His musical style is often described as inventive tech house with an old-school vibe, crafted for the dance floor. PAWSA's productions are characterized by their minimalist approach, focusing on groovy basslines, punchy drums, and sparse melodies.
Career
PAWSA's career began in 2013 after meeting Michael Bibi at a warehouse party. He released his debut EP, "Pilot," in 2014 on Lost Records. This release gained him recognition from notable DJs like Green Velvet and Nicole Moudaber, leading to EPs on their respective labels, Relief Records and Mood Records. In 2015, he and Michael Bibi co-founded the record label and party brand, Solid Grooves. The brand quickly became a defining force in the house and tech-house scene, known for its raw, rhythm-focused sound. In 2017, PAWSA established his own label, PAWZ, to release music that didn't fit the Solid Grooves sound. He has held residencies at prestigious clubs, including Sankeys in Ibiza, and performs regularly across Europe.

Throughout his career, PAWSA has received several accolades. In 2021, he won the "Best Producer" award at the DJ Mag Best of Britain awards. In 2024, Mixmag ranked him at #19 in their list of top producers who had "defined the year". That same year, his cover of "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)" reached number 4 on the UK Dance chart, and he delivered a two-hour Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1.
