Notion is a British electronic music producer from Bristol who has become a prominent name in the UK dance scene. He grew up in a small village in the West Midlands, which he feels helped him to focus on his music production. He moved to Bristol at the age of 18, a city known for its vibrant music scene that has inspired his work. Before producing, he was a drum & bass DJ for two years, which helped him develop his skills for playing to any crowd.

Notion started releasing music around 2015, gaining recognition within the bassline scene. He has released music on labels such as White Peach, 877, Four40, and Crucast. In 2017, he launched his own label, N Music, to have more creative control over his releases. His sound has evolved from being rooted in bass music to a more versatile style that includes garage, house, breaks, and jungle.
