MoBlack, real name Mimmo Falcone, is an Italian DJ, producer, and the owner of the MoBlack Records label. He is considered a key figure and a pioneer in the global Afro House music scene. His distinctive sound, which blends deep, soulful beats with African-inspired rhythms, has significantly influenced the underground electronic dance music landscape.

Early Life and Influences

Falcone started DJing at a very young age and gained experience working at local FM radio stations in Italy. A pivotal moment in his career was his decade-long residency in Ghana, starting in 2003. This period was fundamental to the development of his unique musical style, as he immersed himself in the local culture and collaborated with Ghanian artists. The MoBlack project itself was conceived in Ghana in 2012. The name "Mo" means "Well done" or "Congratulations" in the Twi language of Ghana.

The label's first release was in December 2013, and it has since become a leading imprint in the genre, consistently charting with its releases. His work has earned him the support of many of the biggest names in electronic music, including Black Coffee, Solomun, Dixon, and Pete Tong.
