Aubrey Drake Graham, born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Canada, is a globally recognized rapper, singer, and actor. He first gained prominence as an actor on the Canadian teen drama series "Degrassi: The Next Generation," where he played Jimmy Brooks from 2001 to 2008. Raised by his mother in Toronto, Drake's father is an African-American musician who played drums for Jerry Lee Lewis, and his uncle is the famed bassist Larry Graham. This musical lineage influenced his early interest in the art form. While acting, he began his music career by self-releasing mixtapes, starting with "Room for Improvement" in 2006.
