Biography

Rebecca Claire Hill, born on February 14, 1994, is an English singer and songwriter from Bewdley, Worcestershire. She began her musical journey at the age of 14, writing songs and performing with a band called Shaking Trees. The band gained support from BBC Introducing, leading to a performance at the Nozstock Festival of Performing Arts.

The Voice UK and Breakthrough

In 2012, Hill auditioned for the first series of The Voice UK, performing John Legend's "Ordinary People". She joined Jessie J's team and reached the semi-finals of the competition. Following the show, Hill's career gained significant momentum. In June 2014, she became the first and only contestant from The Voice UK to score a UK number one single with the song "Gecko (Overdrive)," a collaboration with Oliver Heldens. This success established her as a prominent vocalist in the dance music scene, leading to collaborations with renowned artists and producers such as David Guetta, Wilkinson, Matoma, and MK.

Solo Career and Songwriting

Becky Hill has not only lent her powerful vocals to numerous hit tracks but has also established herself as a talented songwriter. She has penned songs for herself and other artists, with her own hits including "Better Off Without You" and "Back to My Love". In 2017, she released her Eko EP. A compilation album titled 'Get To Know' was released on September 27, 2019, featuring her hit singles and new tracks. Hill released her debut studio album, "Only Honest on the Weekend," on August 27, 2021. The album features collaborations with artists like David Guetta, Sigala, and Ella Eyre. It was preceded by several successful singles, including "Better Off Without You," "Heaven on My Mind," and the David Guetta collaboration "Remember," all of which charted in the UK Top 40. The album itself peaked at number seven on the UK Albums Chart. A deluxe edition was later released, featuring additional tracks like "Run" with Galantis.
