Troye Sivan Mellet, born on June 5, 1995, in Johannesburg, South Africa, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and actor. His family relocated to Perth, Australia, when he was two years old. Sivan's rise to prominence began on YouTube, where he started posting vlogs and song covers in 2007, quickly amassing a large following.

Music Career

Sivan's musical journey began with performances at the Channel Seven Perth Telethon from 2006 to 2008. He signed with EMI Australia in 2013 and released his debut major-label EP, "TRXYE," in 2014. The EP was a commercial success, reaching the top 5 on the US Billboard 200, propelled by the lead single "Happy Little Pill." This was followed by the "Wild" EP in 2015, which served as a prelude to his debut studio album, "Blue Neighbourhood," released later that year. The album's single, "Youth," became his first to chart in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

His second studio album, "Bloom," was released in 2018 and received critical acclaim, reaching the top five in both Australia and the US. The lead single, "My My My!," topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. In 2020, he released the EP "In a Dream." His third studio album, "Something to Give Each Other," was released in 2023, with its single "Rush" earning him two Grammy nominations.

Acting Career

Sivan's acting career began before his global music success. In 2009, he portrayed a young James Howlett (Wolverine) in the film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." He also starred in the "Spud" film trilogy from 2010 to 2014. Sivan has taken on more significant roles in recent years, including a supporting part in the 2018 film "Boy Erased," for which he also co-wrote the Golden Globe-nominated song "Revelation." He later starred in the 2022 film "Three Months" and the 2023 HBO series "The Idol."
