Biography
Martina "Tini" Stoessel, born on March 21, 1997, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a singer, actress, and model. She began her artistic training at a young age, studying singing, piano, dance, and acting. At the age of 11, she made her television debut with a role in the children's series "Patito Feo".
Breakthrough with "Violetta"
Tini's international breakthrough came in 2012 when she was cast in the lead role of Violetta Castillo in the Disney Channel Latin America telenovela "Violetta". The show, which followed a musically talented teenager, became a global success. During the show's three seasons, Stoessel recorded several soundtrack albums that achieved commercial success in Latin America and Europe. She also reprised her role in the 2016 film "Tini: The Movie".
Solo Music Career
Debut Album and Early Success
In 2015, Tini signed with Hollywood Records and officially adopted her stage name. Her debut solo album, "Tini (Martina Stoessel)," was released in 2016. The bilingual album, featuring songs in both Spanish and English, debuted at number one in Argentina and entered the top ten in several European countries. The album's release was accompanied by the movie "Tini: The Movie", which served as a sequel to the "Violetta" series.
Musical Evolution
Tini's subsequent albums showcased her artistic evolution. "Quiero Volver" (2018) saw her exploring Latin pop and reggae sounds and featured collaborations with artists like Sebastián Yatra and Karol G. With "Tini Tini Tini" (2020), she moved towards a more urban sound, incorporating reggaeton and trap, which resulted in a double diamond certification in Argentina.
Recent Work
In 2021, Tini signed with Sony Music Latin and released "Cupido" in 2023, an album that blends urbano and cumbia styles. This album included her first Billboard Argentina Hot 100 number-one singles: "Miénteme," "Bar," and "La Triple T". Her fifth studio album, "Un Mechón de Pelo," released in 2024, is a deeply personal project with an alternative pop and spoken-word sound, reflecting on her mental health and experiences in the public eye. After "Violetta," Tini focused primarily on her music but is set to return to acting. She will star in the drama miniseries "Quebranto," scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2025, marking her first live-action role in over nine years.
