Biography

Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter, born on May 11, 1999, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She grew up in East Greenville and was homeschooled. At around age 10, she began posting videos of her singing on YouTube, covering artists like Christina Aguilera and Adele. Her father built her a recording studio to support her passion for music.

Acting Career

Carpenter's acting career began with a guest role on the NBC drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2011. She gained prominence for her role as Maya Hart in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, which aired from 2014 to 2017. She has also appeared in several films, including The Hate U Give (2018), the Netflix movies Tall Girl (2019) and its sequel, and Work It (2020), which she also executive produced. In 2020, she made her Broadway debut as Cady Heron in the musical Mean Girls, though the production was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Music Career

2014–2020: Hollywood Records Era

In 2014, Carpenter signed with Hollywood Records and released her debut single, "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying". This was followed by four studio albums: Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and Singular: Act II (2019).

2021–Present: Island Records and Mainstream Success

Carpenter signed with Island Records in 2021, marking a new phase in her music career. Her fifth studio album, Emails I Can't Send (2022), featured the viral hit "Nonsense". Her sixth album, Short n' Sweet (2024), became her first to top the US Billboard 200 chart and included the global hit singles "Espresso" and "Please Please Please". She also served as an opening act for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour in 2023.

Personal Life

Sabrina Carpenter has had a few publicly known relationships. From 2014 to 2015, she dated actor Bradley Steven Perry. She was later involved in a highly publicized rumored relationship with actor Joshua Bassett in 2020. More recently, she began a relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan in late 2023; however, it was reported they had split by the end of 2024.
