Biography

Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, known professionally as PARTYNEXTDOOR, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer born on July 3, 1993, in Mississauga, Ontario. His mother is of Jamaican descent and his father is of Trinidadian descent, and his Caribbean heritage has influenced his musical style. He was inspired by artists like Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Blackstreet, and 112 that his father played.

Career Beginnings and OVO Sound

At the age of 18, Brathwaite signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell as a songwriter under the name PARTYNEXTDOOR. He garnered the attention of fellow Canadian artist Drake and became the first artist signed to his OVO Sound record label in 2013. In July of that year, he released his self-titled debut mixtape, which was met with critical praise. He also contributed background vocals to the songs "Own It" and "Come Thru" on Drake's 2013 album, Nothing Was the Same.

PARTYNEXTDOOR has released several studio albums, mixtapes, and EPs throughout his career. His debut studio album, PARTYNEXTDOOR Two, was released in 2014 and featured the hit single "Recognize" featuring Drake. This was followed by PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 (P3) in 2016, which included the successful singles "Come and See Me" featuring Drake and "Not Nice". His 2020 album, PARTYMOBILE, spawned his highest-charting singles, "Loyal" featuring Drake and "Believe It" with Rihanna. In 2024, he released his fourth studio album, PARTYNEXTDOOR 4. A collaborative album with Drake titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U was released in 2025.

Songwriting and Production

Beyond his solo work, PARTYNEXTDOOR is a prolific songwriter and producer for other artists. He is credited with writing Rihanna's number-one hit "Work" and DJ Khaled's popular single "Wild Thoughts". He has also written for and collaborated with a wide range of artists including Beyoncé, Travis Scott, Usher, Post Malone, and Christina Aguilera.
