Biography
Meduza is an Italian house music production group consisting of Luca de Gregorio, Mattia Vitale, and Simone Giani. The trio formed in 2018 and are known for their blend of deep house and pop music, which has led them to become the most globally streamed Italian artists in the history of music in Italy.
Career Beginnings and Breakthrough
Before forming Meduza, the three members were working together as producers and DJs since 2014, creating rap instrumentals and collaborating on various tracks. They officially formed Meduza in 2018, adopting a house-influenced style.
Their breakthrough came in 2019 with the release of their debut single "Piece of Your Heart," featuring British production trio Goodboys. The song was a massive international success, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. This track has amassed over two billion streams globally.
Continued Success
Following the success of their debut single, Meduza released "Lose Control" with Becky Hill and Goodboys, which also became a major hit, accumulating almost one billion streams. Their 2020 single "Paradise," featuring Dermot Kennedy, gained similar traction with over 750 million streams. The trio has also released numerous successful remixes for artists like Ed Sheeran, Florence and The Machine, and Dido. In 2023, they released their debut self-titled album.
