Biography

Jesse & Joy is a Mexican pop duo formed in 2005 by siblings Jesse Eduardo Huerta Uecke and Tirzah Joy Huerta Uecke in Mexico City. Born to a Mexican father and an American mother, the siblings developed a passion for music at a young age. In 2001, they began writing and composing songs with their father, with Jesse on piano and guitar and Joy as the lead vocalist and guitarist. They signed with Warner Music Latina on April 18, 2005.

Career Breakthrough

The duo gained significant exposure when they were introduced by the popular duo Sin Bandera during the 2005 Mexican Teletón. Their debut album, "Esta Es Mi Vida," was released in 2006. The album's first single, "Espacio Sideral," achieved commercial success and was certified gold. The album itself reached the top twenty on the Mexican album charts, was certified platinum, and earned the duo a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

Studio Albums and Success

Following their successful debut, Jesse & Joy have released several other studio albums. Their second album, "Electricidad" (2009), was certified gold. Their third album, "¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro?" (2011), achieved multi-platinum status and included the hit single "¡Corre!". This album earned them three Latin Grammy Awards in 2012. Their fourth studio album, "Un Besito Más" (2015), won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. They have also released "Jesse & Joy" (2016), their first bilingual album, and "Aire" (2020), which incorporated elements of reggaeton and trap.
