Biography

Good Neighbours is an English indie pop duo that formed in London. The band consists of Oli Fox and Scott Verrill. The two were literally good neighbors, working out of adjacent studios in East London before they decided to collaborate. Both Fox and Verrill had previous experience in the music industry as solo artists. Fox, a singer-songwriter from Essex, had supported Norwegian singer Sigrid on her UK tour in 2018 and released two solo EPs. Verrill, from South London, had released music under the names Kyko, Kwassa, and Good Scott, and his teenage band was one of the youngest to ever play the Glastonbury Festival.

Formation and Breakthrough

Feeling creatively unfulfilled with their individual projects, Fox and Verrill bonded over a shared desire to create something more fun and reminiscent of the 2000s indie scene they both admired, citing bands like Passion Pit and MGMT as influences. They officially formed Good Neighbours in 2023. Their debut single, "Home," was released on January 17, 2024, after being teased on TikTok and quickly going viral. The song achieved significant commercial success, charting in multiple countries and entering the UK Top 40 and the Billboard Hot 100.

Musical Style and Success

Good Neighbours' music is often described as optimistic and nostalgic indie pop, characterized by catchy melodies and upbeat production. Following the success of "Home," they released their debut self-titled EP in October 2024. The duo has been recognized for their rising popularity, earning a nomination for the Brit Awards' Rising Star award in 2025. They have also embarked on successful tours across the UK, USA, New Zealand, and Australia.
