Biography
Arizona Zervas, born on April 19, 1995, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, he later moved to Maryland. Zervas began his musical journey in high school, releasing his first song in the eleventh grade.
Career Beginnings
Zervas started releasing music independently in 2016, with his debut single titled "Don't Hit My Line". Over the next few years, he released a prolific number of songs, with many of them surpassing one million streams on Spotify. In 2018, he released a three-song EP called "Living Facts".
Breakthrough with "Roxanne"
His major breakthrough came with the release of the single "Roxanne" on October 10, 2019. The song quickly went viral, largely due to its popularity on the social media platform TikTok, where it was used in millions of videos. This viral success propelled "Roxanne" to the top of Spotify's United States Top 50 chart, making Zervas the first independent artist to achieve this since 2017. The track peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and charted in the top ten in several countries, including the UK and Australia.
Major Label Signing
The massive success of "Roxanne" led to a bidding war among major record labels, and in November 2019, Zervas signed with Columbia Records.
Post-"Roxanne" Career
Following his hit single, Arizona Zervas has continued to release new music. Some of his subsequent singles include "FML," "24," and "Nightrider." He has been praised for his blend of pop and hip-hop, drawing comparisons to artists like Post Malone and Juice WRLD. In 2023, he independently released his debut studio album, "Wild West".
