Biography

Álvaro Tauchert Soler, born on January 9, 1991, in Barcelona, is a Spanish-German singer and songwriter. His father is German and his mother is Spanish-Belgian, which made him multilingual from a young age. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Tokyo, Japan, where he lived until he was 17. This multicultural upbringing greatly influenced his musical style. Soler is a polyglot, fluent in Spanish, Catalan, German, English, Italian, and Japanese.

Musical Career

Alvaro Soler's musical journey began in 2010 when he co-founded the band Urban Lights with his brother and friends in Barcelona. The group gained some local recognition and even reached the finals of the Spanish music competition "¡Tú sí que vales!" in 2013. In 2014, Soler decided to pursue a solo career and moved to Berlin, Germany.

Breakthrough and Albums

Soler's breakthrough came in 2015 with his debut single "El Mismo Sol," which became a major hit across Europe, especially in Italy and Switzerland. A bilingual version of the song featuring Jennifer Lopez was released internationally, further boosting his fame. His debut album, "Eterno Agosto," was released in 2015 and included the hit singles "Sofia" and "Agosto." His second album, "Mar de Colores," was released in 2018 and featured the popular song "La Cintura." His third studio album, "Magia," was released in 2021.

Collaborations

Throughout his career, Alvaro Soler has collaborated with several international artists. Besides the duet with Jennifer Lopez, he has worked with the Colombian band Morat on the song "Yo Contigo, Tú Conmigo" for the "Despicable Me 3" soundtrack. He has also released versions of his song "Libre" with Mexican singer Paty Cantú, Polish singer Monika Lewczuk, and Italian singer Emma Marrone. Other collaborations include tracks with Flo Rida and TINI.

Television and Other Ventures

In addition to his music career, Alvaro Soler has been a prominent figure on television. In 2016, he was a judge on the tenth season of the Italian version of "The X Factor." He has also served as a coach on "The Voice Kids" in Germany. Furthermore, Soler lent his voice to the character of Camilo Madrigal in the Italian and German dubbed versions of the Disney animated film "Encanto."
